Community-based Physical and Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Program to the Elderly Recovered from COVID-19 (Highlights)
The Rotary Club of City Northwest Hong Kong sponsored a community service project called “Community-based Physical and Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Program to the Elderly Recovered from COVID-19”. It was co-organised by the Caritas Institute of Higher Education and Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Welfare Council.
The project aims to provide assessment and physical fitness training to the elderly recovered from COVID-19. We found that different outcome measures including upper limb strength, lower limb strength, cardiovascular function and walking speed also improved after 2 months of physical training. The study was featured in 'The 26th Congress of the Asia Pacific Society of Respirology (APSR) 2022' in Seoul and recently published in the 'Journal of Respiratory Disease & Treatment'. It contributes and makes impact to the understanding of COVID-19 rehabilitation.
